Red White and Blue at Delightful

Good morning bloggers and Happy Thursday! As it is Thursday this sees the start of a brand new challenge over at Delightful Challenges and the theme this week is:

RED  WHITE  AND BLUE!!

This is just so topical at the moment with us in the UK being only hours away from the Diamond Jubilee weekend and the 4th of July is looming on the horizon for our US friends (not to mention Bastille Day for our French cousins I could go on but I have run out of ideas lol)!!  Wendy has some gorgeous red white and blue digital papers over at Digital Delights and you can see them here. So here is my card for today's challenge:

Isn't she just adorable?  She is Riveting Rosie and I have coloured her with my Copics and Prismas.  Wendy's images are a joy to colour they just colour so well however if you don't like colouring or you are in a rush you always have the option to get the image pre-coloured!  Here is the link to Rosie and at the moment of writing this she is 50% off.  I have used a combination of Wendy's Digital Papers on my card. The ones with stars on are from Patriotic Digital Pack available here and the red white and blue stripe and dotted ones are from the Sail Away Pack available here.  I have paper pieced the scarf on Rosie's head. For the sentiment I have used Wendy's Ticket sentiment and just coloured the edge in with a Prisma.  I have cut and matted Rosie with a circle and  Star Circle Nestabilities. I then punched some little yellow stars out using the Star Circle Nestability and glued them on some card candi I had coloured to match.  I then put Glossy Accents on the card candi but I took the picture before it had dried so it looks a bit cloudy but IRL it is nice and shiny!  I would like to enter the following challenges:

Aud Sentiments - Any Sentiment
Moving Along With the Times - Red White and Blue
My Mum's Craft Shop - Red White and Blue
Celebrate the Occasion - Anything Goes
Celebrate Craft - Red White and Blue
Love to Create - Add a Sentiment
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

Our sponsor this week is:

Joanna has kindly donated a £10 gift voucher for her store to the lucky winner.

If you want some more inspiration please go over to Delightful Challenges and see what the other members of the talented DT have designed - its worth the trip!

Well that is it for me for today.  It is 0448 as I am writing this, its the last time I have two coffees at night!!  See you tomorrow, take care xx

Brace Yourselves for these Pictures!

Good morning! Well it turned out lovely again in Blackpool yesterday after a bit of a tricky start! I think the weather has definitely changed today though! So it will be a crafty day for me after a bit of housework and grocery shopping.

For today's card I have used another of the lovely Pollycraft images I got in the 100 bundle, I don't know how long it will take me to go through these!!

The digi is Celeste Amberglow Cupcake Party and Pollycraft are closing soon so you should pop over and have a look!  The gingham paper is Pink Petticoat and the two patterened papers are from DCWV Glitter Sweet Matstack. I have coloured her with Copics and Prismas and added Glossy Accents to her eyes.  I have used Viva Decor to the cupcake.  I have cut and matted the image with Spellbinders and distressed the edges with Spun Sugar DI.  The sentiment is from Pink Petticoat and that has been cut and matted with Spellbinders.  The corner die is by Dienamics and the ribbon is from my stash. I would like to enter the following challenges:

Die Cuttin' Divas - Anything Goes
Party Time Tuesday - Anything Goes
Ribbon Carousel - Photo Inspirations
Pinspirational Challenge - Photo Inspiration (I have used the cupcake as my inspiration)
Love to Create - Add a Sentiment
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Crafts and Me - Add a Ribbon

Now today is Wednesday and I always used to pop over to Julia's blog and play along with What's on Your Worktop Wednesday but I have been MIA from there for quite a while.  However I try to always pop over to Janet at  Fairy Thoughts blog and see how she is doing as she always plays along with WOYWW.  So Janet this is for you - and don't say I didn't warn you!!!!!!

Now I am so embarrassed!  As you can see this was taken yesterday and I have ran out of room so I ended up making today's card on my Big Shot Pro!  The other side is just covered in cards waiting for boxes.  Twice yesterday I had a die in my hand then put it down and couldn't find it I had to get Dave to find it!  Now I want you to know that the rest of the house does not look like this, in fact my family laugh at me and think I am slightly obsessive about housework.  I just don't know what happens when I get up here.  About once a month when it gets so bad I really can't find anything I will sort it out but it only lasts a couple of days!  If you would like to see more worktops then pop over to Julia's blog.

Well that's it for me and no I am not cleaning up my craft room today that can keep!  See you tomorrow and take care xx

Mrs Tiggywinkle

Good morning everyone and I think we may have said goodbye to our friend the sun!  Just when we were getting used to it oh well hope its not too long before we see him again!!  At least you don't feel too guilty if the weather is naff being stuck in your craft room crafting away.

Yesterday I saw a gorgeous card on Pauline's blog and loved the layout which she had made using a sketch for a challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Well, as you know, I do love making cards following a sketch so I had to have a play.  I also had some Beatrix Potter stamps that I had got at the NEC and never used so I thought it was about time I had a bit of a play with them.

The stamp is by Crafter's Companion and I have coloured her with my Copics and also some Promarkers and Fleximarkers.  Not sure who the papers are by as they were loose but possibly K and Co - they are quite old, antique I think!! I have used a Dienamics Die for the butterflies, the flowers are Woodware and the backing flowers are Magnolia Doohickeys.  I have added some Stickles to the flowers and the pearl brads are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Sketch
Bearly Mine Challenges - Animal Kingdom
Party Time Tuesday - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for looking today, next time I'll try and have the kettle on!! See you tomorrow, take care xx

For the Man/Boy in Our Lives

Happy Monday everyone!  Hope you all had an enjoyable weekend and those in the UK enjoyed a sunny one!  Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Lexi's Creations and for this challenge we would like to see something for the Man or Boy in your life!  Here is what I have done:

For this card I have used Lexi's Little Devil which you can purchase here at Fairy Dust Crafts.  She has been coloured with Prisma Pencils and loads of  Buttercup and Orange Peel Stickles added to the flames.  For the card I have used a mixture of Black Gloss Card and Black Glitter Card.  I have used a Spellbinders die for the red glitter mat for the image and computer generated sentiment.  The border has been made using my Spellbinders Edgeabilities and red mirri card.

This week we are being sponsored by:

Cropstop.com and the lucky winner will receive a $15 Gift Certificate to their store.

So please pop over to Lexis and see what my talented team mates on the DT have made.

That's it for me for today.  Have a great day and I will see you tomorrow, take care xx

Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries!

Good morning everyone and I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend! Our BBQ was good although I think I had a bit too much Pimms, Rum Punch and wine because I fell asleep in Eurovision and missed all the scores!  I feel sorry for poor Englebert - second to last oh dear!!

I've just had a peek at the weather forecast and it looks set to stay like this until about Thursday!  It would be so nice if our summer was just like this all the time I think everyone is happier when the sun shines!  I don't really sit out in it but its just nice to wander down the garden and feel the sun on you instead of being covered up with cardigans!!  I still haven't got my summer clothes out yet, I was going to this weekend but the forecast says it will be back down to 14 by later in the week.  Dave says its like living with a weather girl because I'm always babbling on about the weather forecast and I always know the latest one!!  Anyway enough of my waffle here is my card for today:

This cute image is from Pollycraft and I got her in a bundle with 100 for £9.50!  Talk about being spoiled for choice now!! I have followed the sketch at Crafty Sentiments again for the layout.  She has been coloured with Copics and a touch of Prismas.  Glossy Accents to her eyes.  The sentiment is Pollycraft as well and comes in the bundle.  I have distressed around the image with Shabby Shutters DI and then cut and matted with my Spellbinders Nesties. The papers are Raspberry Road and I know its really an apple she is holding but I have decided in my wisdom that it is a giant cherry!!! So I made some cherries with the Card Candy:

I coloured the candy with my Copics and added some fallout from a Spellbinders Tear Drop Circles to look like leaves and twisted a stem from a Wild Orchid flower to look like the cherry stem. Here is a picture of the inside:

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiment - Sketch
Wags 'n Whiskers - Summer Fun
Aud Sentiments - Any Sentiment
Charisma Cardz - No Flowers (got plenty of cherries lol)

Well that's it from me just off to get another coffee and then pay you all a visit!  Another BBQ today with Max and Emma coming over so I shall imagine there will be lots of squealing from the garden - and not just me!!  Thanks for looking see you tomorrow and take care xx

Feeling Punchy

Good morning everyone and a happy weekend to you all! And it feels so good to get up and see the sunshine everywhere - long may it continue!

There is a brand new challenge over at Card Makin' Mamas and the theme for this challenge is "Feeling Punchy".  We want to see you get out your punches - not your dies- but good ol' fashioned punches.  It can be border punches, squeeze punches or lever punches, as long as we can see something that has come from a punch on your card!!  Here is my card:

I have used the adorable Ashley with Rose image from our sponsors this week who are DigiDarla Designs:

I have coloured Ashley with my Copics and Prisma Pencils.  For the layout of the card I used a sketch from the challenge at Crafty Sentiments.  My Papers are all from Nitwits from the Gratitude Collection which has to be one of my favourites!  One die has crept in which I thought was ok because I have used punches, I used my Spellbinders to cut and mat the image.  I cut Ashley out and then mounted her with foam pads.  I have embossed the background with a Craft Concepts embossing folder.  The sentiment is computer generated.  I have used a Martha Stewart border punch for the border.  The flowers have been made using three different Woodware flower Punches and the branch/fern was made with a punch but I am not sure if that is Woodware or not. The bling is from my stash.  If you pop over to Card Makin' Mamas you can see for yourself the fab creations the rest of the DT have designed.  I would like to enter the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiments - Sketch
Pattie's Creations - Recipe
Aud Sentiments - Any Sentiment
Digi Doodles - Let's Go Spotty
Southern Girls - Dying to Diecut or Punch
Crafts and Me - Fabulous Flowers
The Paper Shelter - Bling it On

I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine wherever you are! A big welcome and thank you to my newest followers!  I am going to prepare for our BBQ and get some scorecards printed out for Eurovision lol!!  Thanks for looking and I will see you all tomorrow - take care xx

Photo Inspiration at Cardmadfairy's

Good Morning you happy sunny bloggers!  Friday at last with a sunny weekend to look forward to - yippee!

Today sees the start of a new challenge at Cardmadfairy's Digi Days and the theme this week is a photo inspiration.  Here is the picture we would like you to use:

Very topical me thinks!  I know not everyone is based in the UK but it will soon be 4th July in the US so that gives you an excuse to get your red white and blues out although I am sure a lot of you will want to join in with helping us to celebrate our Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Here is what I have made:

I have used Jenni's Tracey which you can purchase here.  I have coloured her with Copics and added some Glossy Accents to her boots. The papers are Nitwits from their Tour of London Collection.  I cut the bunting freestyle and cut the mounting for it with some fancy scissors I have had for years and years.  The red white and blue twine is from my stash.  The mat for the image is Romantic Rectangles from Spellbinders - so pretty!  I have attached a red, white and a blue gem to the crown and put it at a jaunty angle on her head!  The gems and crown are from my stash.  The corner piece is a Dienamics die. So please pop over to Cardmadfairy's Digi Days Challenge and see what the rest of the DT have made.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz - No Flowers Allowed
Digi Doodles - Let's Go Spotty
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything for Kids
Willow Sketchie - Red, White and Blue and/or Sketch
Paper Pretties - Bold Bright Colours
The Paper Shelter - Bling
Papertake Weekly - Red White and Blue
Desmet Designs - Red White and Blue
Glitter Geeks - Diamond Jubilee

A big welcome to my new follower! I'm meeting a friend today for a coffee and have quite a lot to do today, we are having a BBQ tomorrow and Sunday so I need to prepare.  Tomorrow is Eurovision so might have a bit of a Eurovision party/BBQ I did say to my DH that we should all dress up in participating nation's national dress but he didn't seem too impressed with that - I wonder why??  See you tomorrow and take care xx

Flowers, Flowers

Good morning everyone! Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Delightful Challenges:

FLOWER

Yes that's right the theme this week is Flowers and we want to see 5 or more on your paper project!
You do not have to use a Digital Delights image to enter but if you do you can enter twice!  Here is my card:

I think there are five flowers on there!!  For my image I have used the gorgeous Thank You Flowerpot which you can purchase here at Digital Delights. I have coloured the image with my Copics and added some Viva Decor Pearl Pen to the flower head. I added loads of Stickles to the Thank You.  I have paper pieced the Flower pot and ribbon using the papers from Wendy's Sweetheart Digital Papers which you can get at Digital Delights here. For extra dimension I have popped the flower petals up on some silicone glue, you can probably see that better on this picture:

The gingham paper is also from the Sweetheart Paper pack (love this pack - one of my favourites).  I have cut the image out with Spellbinders and distressed the edges with some Spun Sugar DI.  The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts and the ribbon is from my stash.  The dies I have used are Marianne for the leaves, Memory Box for the lacy rosette behind the flowers and an X Cut for the border.  Here is a view of the inside:

Because it had so many flowers on I had to make a box:

Our sponsors this week are:

and The Cutting Cafe will give the winner 3 sets of their choice!  So please pop over to Delightful Challenges to see what my talented team mates have made and have a go at the challenge we would love to see what you have made! I would like to enter the following challenges:

Lazy Hazy Days of Summer

Mmmmm do you think summer has finally arrived?  It certainly has here in sunny Blackpool although whether it stays is another matter.  The forecast looks good for the rest of the week which is good as we are having a BBQ on Saturday and Sunday. Make hay while the sun shines!

For today's card I have used an image from Stampavie by Penny Johnson:

The image has been coloured with Copics, the reason the bird is lilac and green is that I coloured him to match the one on the paper but then I went and covered it with the image! I have added a bit of Viva Decor Pearl Pen to the bottom of the cage but I don't think you can see that too well.  I have followed the sketch over at Sketch n Stash and also followed the photo inspiration at the Ribbon Reel.  I have used Spellbinders to cut and mat the image.  Dies used are: butterflies are Dienamics, flower base is Magnolia Doohickey and Heart banner is Whiff of Joy.  The flower I have made using Woodware punches.  I have embossed some white pearl card with a script embossing folder by Cuttlebug. The ivory ribbon is from my stash as is the pink gem.  Here is a bit of a sideways view:

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Sketch 'n Stash - Sketch
The Ribbon Reel - Photo Inspiration plus embossing
Ladybug Crafts Ink - Something with Wings
Oldie but a Goodie - Things with Wings (Items used older than 6 mths.: Flower Punches (ancient), Ribbon, Gem, Embossing folder, Nesties, Coredinations Card Stock)

Flowers for you

Good morning everyone!  Well yesterday was so fantastic how wonderful to see the sunshine again I had almost forgotten what it felt like.  I had such a productive day too, got all the housework done, all the washing and ironing, shopping, went to the garden centre and got all my bedding plants for my pots and tubs and planted them and still made a card! Looks like we are in for more of the same today as I am looking out at a lovely blue sky now at 0620.

For today's card I have used another image by Tickled Pink:

It was so nice I decided to photograph it outside! I have coloured her with my Copics and added some Stickles which you can't really see in this picture so here is another picture:

I think you can see the Stickles a bit better in this one.  The papers are by Papermania called Lucy Cromwell (?) which is a really pretty stack and it has these labels to match.  The photo corners and butterfly are by Dienamics and the border punch is a Martha Stewart. The resin flower is from Teresa's My Crafty Heart Shop and they are available in all different lovely colours and styles. Pearls and ribbon from my stash.  I would like to enter the following challenges:

Hooked on Crafts - Flowers
Bearly Mine - Anything Goes
Flourishes - Flower Image
Sassy Cheryl's - Favourite Colour Combo (Easy Peasy = Pink Pink and Pink lol!!)
Sweet Stamps - Anything Goes
That Craft Place - Monochromatic
The Crafty Pad - Bingo (Ribbons, Flowers and Bling)

Well I think I may even do some colouring outside today and a spot of gardening and try and catch up on some DT work.  Its amazing how only a few days away and you have a lot of catching up to do. Thanks for looking and any comments you may leave which are always lovely to read.  See you tomorrow and take care xx

Fabulous News!

Good morning everyone well I have returned from a wonderful weekend with my grandson Harrison and I can also share some fab news that I have been dying to shout about!  I am going to be a grandmother again, little Harrison is going to have a brother or sister.  I have known for a while but I wasn't sure if Stephen and Melissa wanted me to say anything on here but they are both ok with it.  The new baby is due Dec 10th - Harrison was two weeks late and so I think Melissa is hoping this one will be a bit sooner! I think she is also hoping the new baby will be a bit smaller as Harrison was a whopper at 10lb 8oz - he went straight into 3 month old clothes!!

For my card today I have used a Bugaboo stamp, I recently won two prizes which were both Bugaboos so I have rather a few new Bugaboos which I have always liked:

I loved this image when I saw it, obviously based on the Cat in the Hat.  I have coloured with Copics and added some Glossy Accents to his nose.  The papers are by My Mind's Eye called Lime Twist and I love these but they are double sided  which I think is always a waste so I am trying not to buy anymore double sided as I am always in such a quandary as to which side to use.  The stars were made with my Dienamics die and the ribbon is from my stash. I would like to enter the following challenges:

Sentimental Sundays - Whimsical
Two Sisters - Stars
Craft Your Days Away - All Creatures Great and Small
Crazy 4 Challenges - Birthday
Shelly's Images - Show Us What You've Got
Truly Scrumptious - Anything Goes
Whimsy - Anything Goes

I have a picture to share of a very messed up Harrison, this is after playing with a lot of water with grandma in the garden on the pretext of helping daddy garden!

Well I am going to catch up with everyone today and see what you have all been up to and hopefully a bit of crafty time (after housework and shopping lol).  Thanks for looking and I will see you tomorrow, take care xx

Saturday 19 May 2012

I never promised you a Rose Garden!!

Well if everything goes according to plan I should be in London now chasing after my grandson Harrison!  I have scheduled this post so fingers crossed!

This cutie is called Willow from Tickled Pink.  I have coloured her with Copics and Prisma Pencils.  She has been cut and matted with Nesties and the sentiment is by Wild Rose Studio and has been stamped on a Lacy Doily Accent tag.  The trellis is from Cheery Lynn (this is it Pauline!) and the ivy is a Marianne die.  The gorgeous papers are by Prima called Meadow Lark.  Gems and flowers from stash. I would like to enter the following challenges:

Digi Designs - Show us your Bling
Secret Crafter - In the Garden
Crazy 4 Challenges - Birthday
Stamp Scrap and Doodle - Flowers
Phindy's Place - Summer is Coming

Friday 18 May 2012

Ooh La La!

Good morning bloggers and Happy Friday  (big happy dance from me). I am off down to London by train today to spend the weekend with my darling grandson - whoop whoop.  I am coming back Sunday that is unless he has chicken pox then I will stay on to look after him whilst DS and DIL go to work.  He had chicken pox in February but Stephen, my son, rang yesterday to say nursery said he had started with some more spots. Hopefully it may be a bit of a heat (????!!) rash ok maybe not heat then but sweat or some insect bites.  I haven't seen him since February and he is now 19 1/2 months so I am super excited.

Here is the card I have made for today:

The image is a Paper Shelter one and I am just in love with these at the mo!  I think she is supposed to be a circus ringleader really but I have these gorgeous papers by Prima called En Francais so I thought she looked quite French maybe from the Moulin Rouge! It really took me ages to make this card most of the day on Wednesday!  I have coloured her with Copics and Prisma Pencils.  The image has been cut out with Spellbinders and then distressed with Weathered Wood and Victorian Velvet DIs.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Wild Rose and has been stamped on part of a page from the pad which I cut out and then added some ribbon and a bow to it.  The flowers are Memory Box and the border punch is a Tonic.  I have embossed the border and the metal butterfly with my Stampendous aged aqua EP which is so lush - I love it.  To the centre of the flowers I have added Stampendous steel blue crushed glass glitter.

I really enjoyed making this card even though it seemed to have taken ages.  I would like to enter the following challenges:

The Paper Shelter - Birthday Cards
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Flowers
Whimsy - Anything Goes
Creative Craft - Distressing
Die Cuttin' Divas - Flowers
Crafty Ribbons - Flowers
Little Miss Muffet - Anything Goes
Sassy Studio - Triple Play (I used 3 flowers)

A big welcome and thank you to my new followers so pleased to have you as followers!  Well I hope you all have a nice weekend - I know I will!! Take care xx

We're Jammin'

Good morning bloggers!  Well yesterday turned out to be rather nice so fingers crossed for today!  I said to Dave yesterday that we should be thinking about getting our bedding plants and then on the weather forecast it said a big chance of frost!

For today's card I have used another Belles and Whistles rubber stamp by Elizabeth Bell, well its actually acrylic not rubber but you get my drift!

I have coloured her with Copics and Prismas and added some Glossy Accents to her jar (although I think I should have put some red on it because it looks empty lol).  She has been cut with Spellbinders and distressed with Antique Linen DI.  The image from Pink Petticoat has been cut and matted with Spellbinders.  The heart banner is Whiff of Joy die, the corner is a Whimsy die and the flower is Daisy Flower Topper by Spellbinders.  I have added some Spiced Marmalade DI and Beadazzles to the flower.  The papers are First Edition Boho Chic and ribbon is from my stash.

Tick Tock

Good morning everyone hope you are all ok in blogland.  Here in Blackpool it is lashing it down at the moment but still sunny!!

Today's card is one I made using a Meljen's image and I thought it would be suitable for a man:

As it was going to be for a man I didn't put any embellishments on it.  I coloured the image with Copics and added some Liquid Pearls and Glossy Accents to his eyes.  The clock face and hands are paper pieced and I added a metal brad to the hands.  The clock die behind the image is Tim Holtz and the corner dies are Whimsy.  The computer generated sentiment has been cut and matted using Spellbinders.  I can't remember where the papers are from as I made the card the other week!  I would like to enter the following challenges:

Bearly Mine - Use Dies
Lollipop Crafts - Just for Him
The Pink Elephant - Polka Dots and Stripes
Robyn's Fetish - Paper Piecing
Sentimental Sundays - Birthdays + Embellishments starting with B (I have used brad on clock hands!)
Allsorts Challenge -Card for a Man/Boy
Craft Your Days Away - All Creatures Great and Small
Crafty Catz - Happy Birthday
Totally Papercrafts - No Pesky Girls

Well yesterday I only got one DT card done, I was hoping to do some more but my back was aching because of standing up.  I always craft standing up as I need to get stuff out and look at things etc so I find it impossible to sit down.  I am going to try again today and see how I get on!  I'd like to say a big welcome to my new followers and thank them for following I am really honoured and delighted.  That's it for me for today - see you tomorrow and take care xx

Black and White and One Colour

Today sees the start of a new challenge at Lexi's Creations and the theme this week is:

BLACK AND WHITE AND ONE COLOUR

so that gives a lot of scope for your creativity.  Here is what I have made for the challenge:

I have used Lexi's cute little Baby Flying Ant which is available  here at Fairy Dust Crafts.  He has been coloured with Copics and Stickles in Gunmetal added to his eyes.  I have used mirri card for the backing and flowers which have been cut with Spellbinders and Marianne dies.  The papers are a really old DCWV pad.  Gems from my stash have been added to the centre of the flowers.

Our sponsors this week are:

and they have very kindly donated 5 digi images of the winner's choice from their store.

Please pop over to Lexi's Creations to see what my talented team mates have done.  You have until 27th May to enter the challenge so please go over to Lexi's to join in the fun!

Thanks for looking today, see you tomorrow, take care xx

Pizza Girl

Good morning hope everyone is ok!  Well we finally had some sunshine!! Hooray!! My umbrella was beginning  to feel like a permanent appendage.  I have a quick card to post and then we are off to take our friends to the airport as they are going home today, at least they had one sunny day.

Here is a card I made last week using another Elizabeth Bell image:

She has been coloured with Copics and Pencils. The banner stamps are Whimsy which I have had ages and I think this is the first time I have used them!  The papers are by My Mind's Eye called Miss Caroline double sided so it is always difficult to choose which side.  I try not to buy double sided now as I don't like using them because you have to cover one side up.  I have coloured the card candy with Copics and then added Glossy Accents so they look nice and shiny.  The ribbon, twine and charm are from my stash. I would like to enter the following challenges:

Emergency Crafters - Spots and Stripes
Cute Card Thursday - Food or Drink

Second Big News

Well here I am back again as promised!  This is my second post of the day if you are looking for my DT card for Cardmadfairy's please scroll down.

My big news is that I am so thrilled to have been chosen to be on the DT for Card Makin' Mamas!  I was delighted when I received the e mail to say I had been chosen!!  I was supposed to announce it yesterday but to be truthful I have been that rushed with having our Texan friends over that I just didn't have the time to post but better late never!!

For my first challenge with Card Makin' Mamas the theme is:

MAY FLOWERS

this is a lovely one and I am sure you can all come up with some beautiful creations with flowers somewhere on your card.  Here is mine:

This sweet little image is by Belles 'n Whistles and I have coloured her with my Copics and Prisma Pencils. She has been cut and matted with my Nesies - I put some Spun Sugar DI on the mat which you can just about see.  The border is made with my Edgeabilities, flowers are Memory Box and Magnolia Doohickey and dandelion clock is Memory Box.  The papers are by Papermania and they have sentiments to match which I have used here.  I added some Stickles to the dandelion clock and the ribbon is from my stash.  Here is another view:

We are being sponsored this week by Paper Issues.  So as long as your card has flowers on it you can enter the challenge over at Card Makin' Mamas so please pop over there and see what the rest of the lovely team have created and I am sure you will get loads of inspiration!! I would like to enter the following challenges:

Do You Stack Up? - Flowers
Forever Friends - Spring
Willow Sketchie - Handmade Flowers

I'll be back tomorrow, take care xx

Exciting news!!

Good morning bloggers hope you are fine and well this Friday morning!  Today I have two lots of exciting news to share with you - I will be posting later with the second news, but here is the first one:  I have been chosen to be on the Design Team for Cardmadfairy's Digi Days!  I was so excited when Jenni told me I had been successful! Thank you Jenni and the rest of my new teammies!!  For my first card we were given the task of Clean and Simple - big gulp!!  Whilst I really admire CAS cards I must admit to struggling when I have to make them and have only made two in the past.  I spent quite a while scouring blogland looking for inspiration and admiring everyone's CAS cards.  Eventually I came up with this:

This digi stamp is called Young Love and can be purchased here.  I chose this because it looks so much like my two when they were young - especially the little girl.  Although my daughter is older than my son by only 14 months he has always been tall so soon overtook her although he has dark hair but I didn't want to do dark hair on this picture.  I have coloured it with Prisma Pencils for a soft look.  The image has been cut and matted with Spellbinders and then a bit of Milled Lavender DI on the edges.  I have embossed the panel behind the image and rounded the corners for a softer look.  The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment is by Inkylicious stamped with Versafine.  I have put everything on foam squares to add a bit of dimension as well.

Please pop over to Cardmadfairy's Digi Days Challenge to welcome my new team mates and see what everyone else has designed and please enter the challenge we would love to see your Clean and Simple creations! I would like to enter the following challenges:

The Paper Shelter - Anything Goes
Craft Room Challenge - Emboss It

I will be back later today (definitely this time) with my second big news of the day!!  We are off to the Lakes today to take our Texan friends, yesterday was Chester, they have only come to England for 4 days so we are trying to cram as much as we can in!!  See you later and take care xx

Howdy Pardner!

Good Morning from a damp and dismal Blackpool! I can't believe how wet it is, just in time as we try and show our friends from Texas the lovely sights in the UK - from a steamed up car no doubt!!

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Delightful Challenges and the theme this week is:

DISTRESSING

and this also sees the release of a new set of digis by Wendy over at Digital Delights.  The new release is a Cowboy inspired set and let me tell you they are fab!! Here is what I made:

Isn't he the cutest?  He is called Lil Billy and you can get him here at Digital Delights.  What I love about Wendy's images is that you always have the option of purchasing a pre-coloured version if you are pushed for time or just don't like colouring. I have coloured him with my Copics and he was a joy to colour.  I have also used the Wild West Accessories Set for the barrel, badge and Wanted poster.  I digitally put Billy's face in the Wanted poster which was easy to do - believe me it has to be for me to do it!!  The papers are from a First Edition pad (can't remember which one).  I have distressed the poster with some DI and used my paper distresser all around the edges. I have put some scrim on and put the badge on some foam squares to support the easel part of my easel card.  If you want some more inspiration please pop over to Delightful Challenges and see what my talented team mates have made.  We are sponsored this week by:

and one lucky winner will receive a $20 store gift card.  So get your distressed heads on and enter our challenge, you don't have to use a Digital Delights image to enter but we love it if you do and then you can have two entries!! I would like to enter the following challenges:

Pixie Dust Studio - For the Boys
Southern Girls - About the Boys
Divas by Design - One for the Boys

I will be back later today with some exciting news! Well that's it from me for now I'm off to go and play in the rain - yee haw!!! Take care xx

Time for Tilda

Good morning everyone and hope you are all ok.   I felt that I had been ignoring my poor Tildas lately so I decided to have a little play with them.

She is actually blowing hearts but I changed it to butterflies so I could do some more on the card.  I have coloured her with Copics and Prismas but I am disappointed with how her hair turned out its too dark I think and dominates the image.  The papers are by Prima called Fairy Belle and there is a fairy in the right hand lower corner but you can only see her wrist!!  There is also a key dangling down there so I used one of my grunge board keys and embossed it with some gorgeous Stampendous Aged Aqua Embossing Enamel but then I covered the key with a butterfly - just in case you wonder why I plonked a key on it!!  I have made the flowers with a Memory Box die and put some gems in the centre.  The butterflies are cut out with Martha Stewart and Woodware punches and the little ones are fallout from a Spellbinders Nestie.  The corner dies are Whimsy.  The doily is a Cheery Lynn die - French Pastry which is one of my favourites.  I have finished with some cheesecloth behind the image and  ribbon and charm are from my stash.  I would like to enter the following challenges:

Anything Goes Challenge - Things with Wings
Bearly Mine - Fairies
Craft Room Challenge - Emboss it
Oldie but a Goodie - Die Cuts and Punches (over 6 months: Stamp, butterfly punches, key, ribbon and charm)
House of Gilli - Emboss it
Tammy's Scrapin Corner - Punches and Dies
Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Flowers
Pile it On - Fairytale, Fantasy and Daydreams

That's it from me for today I am off to bake a Lemon Drizzle Cake courtesy of  a Mary Berry recipe.  Thanks for coming to visit me and for the lovely comments which are always a pleasure to read, take care xx

Now for something new

Good morning well that's another Bank Holiday been and gone. It turned out a real washout here in Blackpool in the end.  Got some spring cleaning done which is good but now my blooming back is bad lol!!

For today's card I have used something new, can you tell what it is I wonder?

Mmmm still no idea - want a hint?  Here you are then:

I have had these on order for ages and finally got them the other week and finally used them!  Although I have only used a couple of colours in my picture and I have to say the jury is still out!  I stamped the Hero Arts image on to Crafter's Companion Watercolour Paper and then used the Distress Markers and a water brush to colour.  The paper is Prima from the Melody pad.  I have used Spellbinders to cut and mat - Ironworks Accents and also used them for the little tabs.  The sentiment is a Whimsy stamp and die and I used Adirondack Expresso ink to stamp the sentiment. Flower is WOC and ribbon and gold gems from stash. I need to have a serious play with them but time is a bit precious at the moment.  We have some friends coming from Texas this week so I have been trying to make some cards so I will have something to blog which means I really haven't had time to try something new out.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - Birthday
Creative Craft Challenge - Anything Goes
Paper and Such - May Flowers
Crafty Boots - Yellow
Victorine Stamps - Flowers

Well that's it for me for today, thanks for visiting and any comments you have kindly left, take care xx

Walking the Dog

Good morning and Happy Bank Holiday to everyone in the UK.  It is sunny in Blackpool at the moment but I think rain is forecast today which is typical BH weather I guess.  For today's card I have used an image from Wild Rose Studio which always reminds me of my sister:

although my sister has two little dogs I guess I should have masked another one there!  I have coloured with Copics and Prismas and added some Liquid Pearls to her jewellery.  The papers are Basic Grey from The Little Black Dress pad.  The tree and clouds are from Memory Box and I think the fence is too but I just had a look to check and can't find it!! I really need to have a major sort out in my craft room lol!  The sentiment is computer generated and I have cut the image out with a Spellbinders label (? which number) and distressed the edges with some distress ink.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Two Sisters - Anything Goes
The Poodles Parlour - Anything Goes
Aud Sentiments - Anything Goes
Digi Doodles - Anything Goes
Creative Belli - Animals
Truly Scrumptious - Distressing and Die Cuts/Punches

I think we are going to do a bit of spring cleaning today, yesterday was gardening as it was so nice.  Hopefully I will be able to fit some crafty time in too :-) . Well thanks so much for looking and any comments you may leave its always a pleasure to read them, enjoy your day and take care xx

Hello Gorgeous

Good morning everyone I'm a bit late this morning as we have only just got up!! I usually get up about 6:30 so I feel half my day is gone and my daughter has just rang to say they are on their way - I better get my skates on!!  Have a bit of a wine head this morning too so I don't think anything is going to happen fast.  So I must be quick, here is today's card (lucky its one I made earlier lol):

The stamp is a digi from Little Miss Muffet and I bought it the other week just as they were discontinuing her.  She has been coloured with Copics and Prismas and added a bit of Viva Decor to her hat pin.  She has been cut with a Spellbinders Labels (not sure which number) and then distressed with some Victorian Velvet DI.  The papers behind have been cut out with the same Spellbinders.  I have made the flower with Spellbinders Rose Creations Shapeabilities.  The sentiment is computer generated.  The papers are Nitwits.  The brad and lace heart are from stash.   I would like to enter the following challenges:

Little Miss Muffet - May Flowers
Sentimental Sundays - For a Special Woman
The Crafty Pad - Girly Girls
Two Sisters - Anything Goes
Mark's Finest Papers - Use 3 of Something (3 gems in the corner!)
The Poodles Parlour - Anything Goes
Aud Sentiments - Anything Goes
Digi Doodles - Anything Goes

Well that's it from me for today hope you are all enjoying the Bank Holiday Weekend, the weather in Blackpool has been lovely so far.  Thanks so much for looking and comments you leave, take care xx

More neck than a Giraffe!

Well a big happy Bank Holiday Weekend to you all! At the moment we have blue skies and sunshine don't know how long that will last though! I'd like to welcome my new followers and a big thank you for joining me I am truly delighted!

For today's card I have used another cute Bugaboo image from the ones I won the other day.  This one comes in a set of seven and I think they will be so useful:

I have coloured him with Copics and added Glossy Accents to his feet.  The papers are Nitwits from the Jungle Zoo Too collection.  I haven't really added a lot of embellishments as I decided it would be ideal for a children's card.  I have used Spellbinders to cut and mat the image and for the circles.  The number two has been cut using my Dienamics die and the ribbon is from my stash.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Creative Belli - Animals
Creative Card Crew - Ribbon
Creative Craft - Anything Goes
Ladybug Craft Ink - Birthday
Karen's Doodles - Something for Kids
Alota Rubber Stamps - Animals
Two Sisters - Anything Goes

Good morning everyone, well its almost time for the Bank Holiday Weekend to start and lo and behold our nice weather seems to have disappeared!  Its been lovely here in Blackpool for the last two days nice and sunny and quite warm but its a completely different picture as I look through my velux window in my garret this morning!!

For today's picture I have followed the sketch over at The Paper Shelter:

The image is from The Paper Shelter and I have coloured her with Copics and Pencils.  She has been cut and matted using Spellbinders.  The flower is made with my Magnolia Doohickey die and the corners are from Whimsy.  Papers are First Edition.  The ribbon is from my stash and the charm was a gift with my order from My Crafty Heart - thank you Teresa.  I have added Glossy Accents topped with Glamour Dust to the dew drops and Glamour Dust to her wings.
