Let The Games Begin!

Good morning everyone! What did you think of the Opening Ceremony?? I never knew the Queen could skydive - WOW!!!!! I loved it when all the Mary Poppins came down from the sky and the torch was just breathtaking.

I should really have done an Olympic themed card for today but I haven't. So here you are:

I have used the digi Emily Rose Hatter by Little Miss Muffet and coloured her with Copics and a touch of Prismas.  The paper is from Daisy Bucket and I have embossed the Coredinations a circles embossing folder.  The image and computer generated sentiment have been cut and matted with Spellbinders Nesties.  The button is from a MFT Dienamics die and I have triple embossed it with UTEE.  The flower is a MFT Dienamics die and the twine and gems are from my stash.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

Well I am getting ready today because Melissa, my daughter-in-law, and Harrison, my grandson, are coming tomorrow for a week - whoop whoop!!I have been really looking forward to it.  I have done my DT cards for next week but, apart from those, I won't have time to blog as Harrison will keep me on the go from dawn to dusk lol!  Thanks for looking, enjoy your weekend and take care xx

The Greatest Show on Earth is About to Start!!

Good morning everyone and here we are at Friday again! I'm so excited because today sees the start of the Olympics and I'm really looking forward to seeing the Opening Ceremony. Its been so lovely to see all the different people carrying the torch and the look of determination on some of their faces as they have struggled to carry it has certainly brought a tear to my eye.

Without further ado here is my card for today:

The digi is Marley Bloom by Pollycraft and he has bee coloured with Copics and Prismas.  The papers are digital and free from Shabby Princess called Festival and they are available here.  I have used Spellbinders Nesties for the image, mat and sentiment.  The flowers are a Tonic punch and the butterfly is made with Dienamics Die.  The ribbon is from Ribbon Girl.  I have computer generated the sentiment.  I would like to enter the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Digi Doodles - Let's Get Stripey

I am off to the hairdressers this morning and then we are seeing my DH's grandchildren and daughter for lunch and I think they are coming back here or maybe it will be the park (weather permitting).  Have a great day whatever you are doing, thanks for looking and take care xx

Dog Hot Days of Summer.....

Good morning bloggers and as today is Thursday that can only mean on thing - a new challenge at Delightful Challenges. The theme this week is:

THE DOG HOT DAYS OF SUMMER

I just went and put the Hot Dog days of summer and couldn't figure out what was quite wrong!!  This is not a phrase we tend to use here in the UK - more like The Raining Cats and Dogs Days of Summer but hey we can get into the spirit of this we can use our imagination can't we??  When I think of summer I always think of strawberries - mmmmm yummy, they are always at their peak for my birthday in the first week of July.  With that in mind I made my card for the DT and here it is:

I have used the super cute Strawberry Delight by Wendy and teamed her up with Strawberry Balloons these are both available at Digital Delights.  She has been coloured with Copics and Prismas and then cut and matted with Spellbinders Nestabilities.  The sentiment is also by Wendy and that has been cut and matted with Nesties.  The papers are a mixture of K and Co and DCWV both really old stacks!  The butterfly and corner dies are MFT and the border is made with an EK Success punch.  The ribbon, charm and gem are all from my stash.  We are sponsored this week by:

Joanna Sheen is kindly giving the winner a £10 Store Voucher.  So get your thinking caps on and enter the challenge - you don't need to use a Digital Delights image to enter but we love to see them and your entry can then be entered twice!  For more inspiration please pop over to Delightful Challenges and see what the talented Design Team have come up with - some great inspiration there.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Divas by Design - Birthday
My Mum's Craft Shop - Birthday Girls
Whimsy - Summer Fun
Crafty Sentiments - Food Challenge

I'd like to know what is going on with Blogger and all these blasted ads that are everywhere - they are now all over the comment box!  Is anyone else fed up with them or is it just me?  Well that's it for me for today looks like another dull one here in Blackpool! Have a great day wherever you are, thanks for looking and take care xx

Summertime.....where????

Good morning everyone from a damp and overcast Blackpool! Half way through the week already I don't know where the time goes! It certainly goes faster the older you get.

Here is the card I have made for today:

I have used one of my favourite Bildmalarna images I have had quite a while and coloured her with Copics and Prismas.  She has been cut and matted with Spellbinders Nesties.  The papers are by Prima from the Madeline stack.  The butterfly and corner are made with   Dienamics Dies and I have added some Stickles to the butterfly wings.  I have used Cheery Lynn French Pastry Doily behind the image and also Cheery Lynn Build a Flower.  The pearl brad, spacer and ribbon are from the Ribbon Girl.  For the ribbon slider I have added gems to it they are both from my stash and so is the pearl rope. I have followed the sketch over at Sketch N Stash and also made my card for the challenge at Bildmalarna which is Summertime (and I would like to know where it is lol!).

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Bildmalarna - Summertime
Sketch N Stash - Sketch my stash is stamp, ribbon slider, pearl rope

Love Life

Good morning you lovely bloggers! I hope you had a nice start to the week yesterday.  I met my friend for coffee yesterday and I was so green with envy - she is off to Florida on Friday! Mind you we are going in October and I am so excited, I can hardly wait - I love it in Florida!

I am trying to get ahead with myself because Harrison and Melissa, my DIL, are coming on Sunday for a week.  So I need to get 4 DT cards done as I won't have any crafting time next week. I am so looking forward to them being here for the week and I am hoping we get some decent weather and can go down to the beach - fingers crossed!

Here is my card for today:

I was lucky to win the lovely Mina's candy a while back and it was a set of Kaisercraft stamps and a gorgeous pad by Kaisercraft.  I have used the paper and tag from the pad, the tag is pre-cut you just pop it out and the papers are beautiful some are deeply embossed - I have been stroking them for a while now and thought it was time to use them!  The stamp I have used is a Kaisercraft stamp from another set I have which is called Bonjour, I have stamped it with Versafine ink onto some Kraft card. I stamped Trailblazer onto the tag which is a Hero Arts stamp.  The key is a Tim Holtz one on some Grunge which I embossed with some Distress Embossing Powder in Old Paper and tied it onto the tag with some twine.  The brad globe I have had ages don't know where that came from.  The corner dies are Whimsy and I have used my Edgeability dies for the border.

Thanks very much for coming by, I will be back tomorrow - take care xx

Good morning all and Happy Monday!  This is a real quick post as I am rushing to meet a friend!! Today sees the start of a new challenge at Lexi's Creations and the theme this challenge is Christmas!  Here is my card:

I have used Lexi's Sammi Snowman and coloured him with just my Prismas.  I have added True Snow and some glitter to the bottom of the image where the snow is and some Flower Soft in Polar White to his hat.  Everything else is from my stash. Oh yes the Christmas tree is a Sizzix die I have had for many years and - can you believe it - I had to unseal it to use it, its the first time I've used it!!  Please pop over to Lexi's Creations and see what the rest of the DT have designed.

Sorry its so rushed if I get time later I will come back and edit it!!  Have a great day and thanks for looking!! Take care xx

Heartstrings

Good Morning everyone and a Happy Sunday to you all! To celebrate the start of summer in the UK I am having a BBQ today.  I have just looked at the weather forecast for the rest of the week and rain is forecast everyday after today so it might be the last chance before winter lol!

I have made a card today using another of the lovely Pollycraft  Digi images I got in the mega bundle, this is Celeste Amberglow and Heartstrings:

I have followed the sketch by Dawny P from Simon Says Stamp.  She has been coloured with Copics and Prismas.  I have distressed the edges with Distress Inks and cut her out with Spellbinders Nesties.  Because she was holding some hearts I used my Whiff of Joy Heart Banner.  The flowers are made with Tonic Punch and gems from my stash added.  The sentiment is an old rubber stamp and I have used my 'antique' Sizzix label die to cut it out.  Pearls and ribbon are from my stash.  The papers are another ancient paper stack I have had a long time there are some really nice papers in it that are glittered (picture doesn't show the glitter) and I don't know why I haven't used them before they are DCWV called Garden Party.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - Sketch
Poodles Parlour - Use a Digi
Aud Sentiments - Tag It
Paper Crafting Journey - Pearls and Swirls
Divas by Design - Anything Goes
Fab 'n Funky - Make Your Own Flowers

Good morning everyone and hope you are ok and having a nice start to the weekend!

We have a new challenge over at Card Makin' Mamas and the challenge this week is 1 - 2 - 3! That is we want to see one image, two designer papers and three embellishments.  Our sponsor's this week are Digi My World and they will be providing a mystery prize!  They have also given us images to work with for the challenge and I had the cute Ahoy Pirate:

He was a joy to colour in and I have used Copics to colour him.  The papers are by Nitwits called Ahoy Captain.  The waves at the bottom are the second paper but I merged them with the striped paper before I printed them.  The buttons at the top come with the papers - I have triple embossed them with some UTEE. The sentiment comes with stamp.  The ship is a button and I cut off the shank - I have had this for years and years, no idea where it came from!  The twine and skull charm are from my stash.  I cut the image and sentiment with a Nestie and distressed with some Antique Linen DI.

Please go over to Card Makin' Mamas and see what the rest of the DT have created for some more inspiration.  You may use any image to enter but your entry MUST be a card.

Here Comes Christmas

Good Morning everyone and here we are at Friday again. These weeks are certainly whizzing by now aren't they?  At this rate it will soon be Christmas.  I was at a hotel in Leyland yesterday and they had a Christmas tree up promoting their Christmas parties - how weird did that feel in July!!  Anyway this ties in very nicely because today sees the start of a new challenge over at Cardmadfairy's Digi Days and the challenge is, you guessed it, Christmas!  So here is my card for the challenge:

For my card I have used Jenni's Building a Snowman which is available to buy here at Cardmadfairy's Digi Days.  She has been coloured with Copics and a touch of Prismas with some Stickles to her scarf.  I have layered her behind a Memory Box Die to which I have added loads of Stickles.  I have then used my XXL Go Create Dies to make three layers with glitter, mirri and pearl card.  The sentiment is computer generated and I have cut it out with Sissix die which I have had for yonks.  The bell, ribbon and pearl string are all from my stash.  If you pop over to Cardmadfairy's Digi Days you can see what the rest of the talented DT have made for some more inspiration. To enter you must use a digi image, you don't have to use one of Jenni's images but if you do you can enter as many times as you like.

Put on Your Shades

Good morning bloggers. Well as you can see George didn't whisk me off to Italy lol!! We didn't see either him or Tom but we were watching Tiger Woods practice for quite a while.  He was the only one we knew as neither of us are golf fans.

I need to offer my apologies before you look at my card because it is very bright!! So you might need to put on some sunglasses first:

Well I did warn you!  For some reason all the pictures I took make the cardstock and Copics look green but they are more blue green, like a teal, than show on this picture but they all turned out like this.  The image is Pollycraft's Life's a Beach and she has been coloured with Copics and Prismas.  I have cut and matted her with Nesties. The butterfly is a Cheery Lynn die and the banner is Memory Box.  The flowers are made using a Tonic punch and the border is made with an EK puch. The papers are from Basic Grey called Hello Luscious and the ribbon and gems are from my stash.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Basic Grey Challenge - Fun in the Sun
Fab 'n Funky - Summer Holiday

Well I am off to work today - yes work!!!  I have been retired for almost 13 months so this is a novelty.  My sister is running some consultations with the public and has asked me to help with a few so I am doing two this week and one next week with her.  It certainly feels strange thinking about work again.

Thanks so much for looking I appreciate it, please leave a comment so I know you have been - take carexx

Hollywood comes to town!!

Good morning everyone from a sunny Blackpool! The weather here is being very kind to us so far this weekend.  Next week sees the start of The Open at Royal Lytham which is just down the road.  Can you believe it but George Clooney was in one of the pubs last night?  Well my sister and I are going to watch the practice today evidently you can pay to watch the practice and they have hospitality tents and shopping tents! Tom Cruise is also supposed to be here - goodness me!! My sister said I can't wear my leopard print stillettos I have to wear sensible shoes lol.  You may have gathered by now that I have absolutely no interest in golf but who could resist the chance to maybe catch a glimpse of one of these guys?  Who knows we may get chatting and get on like a house on fire and then who knows what could happen???? Yeah right more likely to be thinking who's that weird woman who keeps following me around drooling!

I must admit that I am really struggling with Mr Mojo at the moment so I have been having a bit of a rest from crafting.  I did make a card the other day and I also have one half finished I just need to decide on the final layout.  Here is the card I made the other day:

Its really quite plain but I didn't want to add too much so that it could be suitable for a man.  The stamp is from a pile I have on my workdesk that I have had for a while and never used it is by Stamposaurus Stamps.  The papers are Nitwits.  The twine is from my stash it came free from an order I placed and I really like it but boy does it fray as soon as you cut it so I added some Glossy Accents to the ends to stop it unraveling entirely! I have used Nesties for the backing paper and the tag was cut out from a really old Sissix die. The image was coloured with Copics. Really now that I look at it its far too plain - oh well.

I hope my mojo comes back soon, I have a really busy week and I'm not sure how much crafty time I can squeeze in this week so maybe the break will do me good lol!  Thanks for looking, take care xx

Tooty Fruity

Good Morning everyone, hope you are all ok and all ready for another Freaky Friday.  Well we have had three days of sunshine here in Blackpool, although it hasn't been as warm as last week it was still nice to have some lovely blue skies!

I have tried another type of style for my card today.  I don't really like to do the same type of card all the time, variety is the spice of life after all. I really love this type of card and I see it on quite a few different blogs so I have had a go.

Actually now I see it today I think there is too much white space I should have put the image more to the left!  Oh well you live and learn!  The image is by Clear Dollar Stamps and I have coloured it with my Copics with some Glossy Accents to the pips.  The paper is from Echo Park called Splash  (double sided - groan).  The sentiment comes with the image and I have matted it onto a Spellbinders banner.  I have embossed the white card and hand cut the banner shape.  The Card Candi has been coloured with Copics to match the paper and then covered with Glossy Accents. I would like to enter the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - Let's Get Fruity
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - Summer
Digi Doodles Challenge - Summertime
Paper Crafting Journey - Summer
Willow Sketchie - Sketch or Summer Holidays (I have gone with summer holidays)
Loves Rubber Stamps - Sweet Summer Days
Sassy Cheryl's - Summer Fun

Whenever I see watermelon it always reminds me of my son, he used to love it and I always got it for him in the summer. In fact I still buy it now if he is coming up although last time he never ate any and I ended up throwing the blasted thing away!! It also tends to remind me of Las Vegas because when we go for a buffet brunch I always have watermelon after reading on the plane that it was full of antioxidants or something!

My step grandchildren Max and Emma are coming for a sleepover tonight so we are taking them out to tea and no doubt we will be having fun and games on the Wii later.  Hope you have a good day wherever you are, thanks so much for looking and take care xx

Good morning everyone and Happy Thursday! As it is Thursday that can only mean one thing - a new challenge at Delightful Challenges - yippee!  The theme for this week's challenges is:

BLING AND BOWS

Well I think this has to be just up most people's street - don't we all just love our bling and bows, I know I jumped with glee when I saw the theme this week.  Here is what I have made:

I have used the gorgeous Dazzling Sue from Wendy at Digital Delights and coloured her with my Copics and Prismas.  The paper is from Wendy's Fabulous Fifties Digital Pack both the image and digital papers are available here at Digital Delights.    I have added a bling flourish from Want 2 Scrap and then some Ironworks borders and flourishes which are from Spellbinders.  I have added a small black gem below the image on the flourish which I don't think you can really see on this picture and also two larger gems in the corner flourishes.  The ribbon is from my stash.  Our sponsors this week are:

Scrapyland and they are going to give the lucky winner a $20 store card!  If you go over to Delightful Challenges and see what the rest of the talented DT have made for some more inspiration.  You don't have to use a Digital Delights image to enter but we love it if you do and you can then enter your entry twice - see challenge for details!

Good Morning Bloggers and hope everyone is alright today. Midweek already goodness me! Hasn't it gone cold here in the UK? 14 degrees yesterday I'm sure it was warmer in winter!  Anyway here is the card I have made for today:

I have used a digi called Dreamin' from Birdie Brown. The papers are from Nitwits from their Petal Fresh Collection.  I have coloured the image with Copics and added Stickles for some sparkle!  The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp I have had for years I cut it out with a Nestie and hand cut the banner shape. The flowers have been cut with my Tonic punch and Stickles added.  Pearls and gem are from my stash.  I have followed a sketch from Sketch 'n Stash for my layout.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

That is it for me today, its another cold one in Blackpool so I don't think I will be venturing out today - a day crafting away - yipee!! Hope you have a good day wherever you are, take care xx

Beach Kitten

Good morning everyone and hope you are having a good start to the week.  For my card today I have used a cool summer image from Meljen's Designs which I won in some candy from Nancy Parker - thank you Nancy!

She's called Beach Kitten and I have coloured her with my Copics and added some Glossy Accents to her glasses and glass. The paper is by Echo Park called Splash.  I have used me Edgeabilities to make the wave pattern at the bottom and added a bit of white Distress Paint to the tips to look like foam.  The sentiment is from Scrapbooks Graphic and I recoloured it to match the card. I bought a paper crimper at the weekend, something I have always wanted but never got round to getting so I used that on the mat under the image.  I rounded the corner of the image to soften it a bit.  I added Liquid Pearls to the image too so it looks a bit like sand.  The sunglasses I bought from Imagine in the sale 10p each, they are a little brooch but I took the pin off.  The seahorse is a cuttlebug die I have had since I bought my cuttlebug.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Incy Wincy Designs - Summertime
Paper Pretties - Beach Days
Sassy Cheryl's - Summer Fun

Thanks so much for looking today, I really appreciate it and it would be nice if you could leave a comment then I know you have been! Take care xx

For a Friend

Good morning everyone and I hope you are all ok and had a nice weekend.  We have had some sunny weather here in Blackpool which has been nice but today it is back to rain! I am sorry I have not been around much but I am still suffering with this virus, it seems to be all in my throat now and I can't stop coughing you know the kind of irritating cough that doesn't sound like anything is wrong!!  I would like to welcome my newest followers and thank you so much for joining me!!

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Lexi's Creations and the theme is "For a Friend".  For some reason I thought this challenge was sentiment only which is what I did, but luckily the sentiment I chose was for a friend!  I tell you I think I am loosing the plot lately!!

I have use The Gift sentiment which you can purchase from Fairy Dust Crafts and changed the colour in Word to match my card. The cardstock I have used is really pretty its like a satin damask, here is a close up:

Not sure if it shows up better there or not!!  I have used Spellbinders Lace Doily Motifs as a mat for the sentiment which was first cut and embossed with a square Nestie.  The flower is another Spellbinders die called Aster Flower Topper.  The butterfly is a Cheery Lynn Die and I have used some fab glitter card that my daughter bought for me when we were in Florida a couple of years ago - its a giant 12x12 pad with all different colours of glitter card - delish!!  On the flower I added some Milled Lavender DI while they were still in the die.  The spacer is from E Bay and the pearl brad from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Our sponsor's this week are Fairy Dust Crafts so pop over there and have a look at what they have, you won't be disappointed!  If you go over to Lexi's Creations you can see what the rest of the talented DT have created.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

It's Time for Rubber

Good morning from a sunny Blackpool (and I have a headache from too much partying lol)!  Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Card Makin' Mamas and the theme this week is that we want to see your Rubber Images. Yep that's right no digis but good old fashioned rubber (or the clear plastic type as long as it is a physical stamp that you ink up - remember those??).  Here is mine:

I have used a sweet Lili of the Valley stamp that I have had for a while and this is the first time I used her!  I have coloured her with Copics and added some Viva Decor o the little flower centres that are floating around her. The paper is by Bearly Mine.  The tag is a Magnolia Doohickey and I made an envelope for it (saw it on Liz's blog and made my own).  The fern is a Memory Box die, butterfly Cheery Lynn and corners are Whimsy dies.  The flower is a Prima one I have had for a while and the corner filigree corner is from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I have embossed the filigree corner with some Moonglow embossing powder and also swiped some on the doily behind the image.  I coloured the seam binding with some Spun Sugar Distress Ink which I spritzed on, the charm is from my stash.

We are being sponsored this challenge by Maria Levine (ippity) from Unity.  Please pop over to Card Makin' Mamas for some more inspiration from the fab DT.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Lili's Little Fairies - Anything Goes

Summertime

Good Morning everyone hope you are ok and looking forward to the start of the weekend. Here in the UK it is set to be another damp one!! I do hope the weather improves for the Olympics.

Today sees the start of a new challenge at Cardmadfairy's Digi Days  and the theme for this challenge is Summertime.  Well when I think of summer it is always of heat and flowers in the garden so I made my card with these two things in mind.  However when my husband came home and saw it he said it looked more autumnal!!  I really panicked then as I had literally got out of my sick bed to make it and didn't feel up to making another.  I started to pull other papers out and re-design but I really wasn't up to it so I have had to go with my original card so apologies if you think it is autumnal although I still maintain orange and red makes me think of the heat!!

I have used Flowers 2 which you can purchase here from Jenni and I coloured the image with just my Prismas for a softer look.  The paper is from Doodle Deux by Prima and cardstock from Coredinations.  I have cut and matted the image with my Nesties and used a Tonic punch for the flowers which have a Card Candi coloured with Copics in the centre.  The fern is a Memory Box die and the corner is by MFT Dienamics. Please pop over to Cardmadfairy's Digi Days and see what the rest of the team have been up to.

That's it for me for today, its my birthday so out for lunch with DH and then out for dinner this evening with my daughter, her partner, DH and my sister!  Thanks so much for coming by and I will be back tomorrow - take care xx

Primary Colours at Delightful

Good morning bloggers, today sees the start of a new challenge at Delightful Challenges:

PRIMARY  COLOURS

Yes we would love to see your project based on the theme of Primary Colours!  This also coincides with the new release of Digital Delights Stamps and Accessories with a school theme. Here is my card:

I have used the super cute Schoolboy and also the blackboard and backpack from the Accessories Set.  The papers are by Digital Delights also.  The image has been coloured with Copics and Prisma Pencils then cut and matted using Spellbinders Nesties.  The Card Candi in the corners have been coloured with Copics and Glossy Accents added to make them shine.  The back pack has been given the 3D treatment which I am not sure you can see in this picture. The ruler is from Maya Road. I have attached some twine to the blackboard and 'hung' it onto the Card Candi, I have also added the ABC sentiment to the blackboard, here is a closer look:

I have used a sentiment from the sentiments set for the inside:

Sorry about the wonky picture! You can see all of Wendy's new releases here at Digital Delights. Please go over to Delightful Challenges and see what the rest of the talented DT have come up with.  To enter you don't have to use a Digital Delights image but we love it if you do and your entry will count twice!  We are sponsored this week by our own Digital Delights and the lucky winner will win a $10 gift certificate!

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Big apologies for not being round the last few days - I have been laid low by a virus that I think I caught from Harrison!! Oh So Tropical

Good morning everyone. Well I am back home safe and sound and my weekend with my grandson Harrison was such good fun!  He was so good for me and we had great fun playing together.

Luckily I made a card before I went away to post today or I would not have one.  Actually its a card I made for Melissa my DIL as it was her birthday yesterday.

The digi image is Oh So Tropical by Paper Pretties and he has been coloured with my Copics.  I have added some Glossy Accents to his nose, lemon rinds and glasses. The papers are by Nitwits called Life's Little Lemons.   I have cut and matted the image and also the papers behind with Spellbinders Nesties.  The lemon slices are part of the embellishments you get with the Nitwits Collection and the ribbon and button are from my stash.  I would like to enter the following challenges:

Joanna Sheen - Summer Daze
One Stitch at a Time - Use a Digi
Pan Pastel - Use a Digi
Quirky Crafts - Make us Laugh
Di's Digi Designs - Summertime
Chocolate Coffee and Cards - Anything Goes
Totallly Papercrafts - Use a Digi
Die Cuttin' Divas - Fruit or Vegetables

Well that is it from me for today I will be catching up with you all today.  Lots of dreaded housework and food shopping to do as well today and hopefully some play time as I have no cards!!  Enjoy your day, I will be back tomorrow and thanks so much for taking the time to look - take care xx
